Hello world!
We’re live! After a lot of work developing custom plugins and a unique theme, the RISC OS Community website is finally up and running — and it works across the full spectrum of RISC OS browsers, including the classic Acorn !Browse.
This project has been a long time in the making — and for good reason. We’re not just launching a website, but a hub for the entire RISC OS community, with features designed to support both modern systems and original hardware from the Acorn era.
Whether you’re using a modern mobile phone, a Raspberry Pi, or a vintage Archimedes, this site aims to deliver a seamless experience. We’ve ensured compatibility with browsers like !NetSurf, and even systems still running !Browse, with fallback mechanisms in place for SSL-free environments.
For the oldest machines that don’t support graphical browsing at all, we’ll provide mirrored access (of the suitable portions of the site), via a classic BBS system. This way, no Acorn system gets left behind! from the latest builds to the original MOS-based machines.
But that’s not all. We’ll be publishing deep-dive technical articles, tutorials, and developer notes to help you explore the internals of RISC OS. Whether you’re reverse-engineering BBC BASIC applications or building modern modules in C, there’ll be something here for you.
You’ll also find a growing collection of open-source community projects! All curated to make your RISC OS experience more capable and enjoyable.
Latest videos and GitHub projects progresses in dedicated areas as well as per-category RSS Feeds so you can subscribe to what matters to you!
